Allen Special Olympics Delegation (ASOD) operates under the guidelines and tax identification number of Special Olympics Texas (SOTX.org). We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization administered completely by volunteers.
Our mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. Athletes begin training as early as age 6, compete locally at age 8 and compete statewide at age 12.
Aquatics, Athletics (Track & Field), Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Flag Football, Golf, Powerlifting, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
